Harley Davidson Decals

If you’re all about the feel of the open road, and Harley is your ride of choice, then you’ll likely want to make sure that everyone knows it when you have to get around in some lesser way. And the best way to do that is get yourself some Harley Davidson decals. In this article we’ll discuss the different kinds of decals there are out there, where to use them and where to get them. After reading this article, you should get some new ideas to spice up your ride with a Harley Davidson decal!

Different Types Of Decal

There are a bunch of different types of decals that you’re going to want to consider adding to your collection. Harley Davidson gas tank decals are one of the most important types of decals, especially if you’ve got an older model bike you’re trying to restore. If you haven’t looked online yet, definitely check out whether your year and model decal is available, since many are.

Another popular style of decal is Harley Davidson helmet decals. If you get a helmet decal, definitely choose something that expresses an important truth you want everyone to know – like, ‘If I have to explain, you wouldn’t understand’.

Other Places to Use Decals

Besides your helmet and gas tank, there are a number of great places to show your Harley Pride. When you find yourself forced to drive, rather than ride, be sure to get some Harley Davidson window decals to grace and bless your rig. At least that way you’ve got a tiny little bit of Harley with you wherever you go.

Another place to put that Harley Davidson decal is on your window or door at work. If you gotta work an office job, at least you get to ride in. So make sure that everyone can see what you’re all about and fly the Harley colors.

Make your own decals

In my other post on designing decals, I take a look at how you can go about getting a custom design printed. But I thought it would be good to have a quick run through how you could design your own decal. Of course, you’ll need some kind of program to do the design, use whatever you like! I won’t go into that much detail about how to use the program, there are plenty of good tutorials out there no matter what you use.

First, I started with the text. Just play around till it looks good, I just used the name of the site “Harley Davidson Decals” as my example here but yours can say anything you like. You might want some words to be bigger than others so they fit well.

Next up, I slanted the words a bit and gave them some color. You can do this pretty easily in most programs. I went with a hot yellow and orange blend, and then an outline.

This is looking a bit plain so we want to get a pic in there too. If you just do a google search for Harley Davidson clip art or skull clip art or whatever you are looking for, you will find plenty of inspiration. I got a nice skull and stuck it next to my wording.

OK and now to spruce it up a bit, I think we need some flames in there. I found a great way to do the flames at this site, but you might need to find one for the program you are using. Here it is with the flames behind the logo.

And it’s ready to go! Of course, depending on the color of your motorcycle you will want to change the background color so it matches once cut out. I did it on black, and as a finishing touch added some red to the eyes. So here you have it: your own custom Harley decal that you can stick onto anything – could be a gas tank decal, or go on your helmet, whatever. The whole thing only took half an hour, so have a crack at your own.

Where to Get Them

Of course you can get them directly from Harley, but there are a ton of places on the internet that offer decals as well. Your best bet is to shop around a little to find the one that shouts out to you to take it home.

Wrap It Up

Now you know what Harley Davidson decals are, where to use them and where to get them. What are you doing still reading this article? Get your decals on, and get out there and ride.
